Tim Ditchfield Architects, a Noosa-based architecture studio were seeking a new visual identity to reflect the modern Australian beach houses they are renowned for. Drawing on the studio’s eminent simplistic style, a visual identity that balances minimalism and form was established. To separate Tim Ditchfield Architects from other studios in an aesthetic industry, a purpose built typeface was designed specifically for the logo. Characteristics of the studio’s architectural style supported the formation of the type-based logo. Playing on form and construction, the letter’s T + D were stacked to create a complementary symbol logo.
This minimalist approach was kept consistent throughout website design, signage, and print deliverables, using uncoated natural stocks and subtle tactile elements.
